1. Game Troubleshooting
a. What are the System Requirements to run iSnooker?
Windows 8.1, 8.0, 7, Vista or XP, 3D Graphics Card. DirectX 9.0 or above. Recent Windows Updates (recommended for stability and performance). Note that we develop with Windows 8.1 so the game will perform best with this operating systems.

b. I get an error when running iSnooker, how can I fix this?
1. Check that you have installed the latest DirectX version from Microsoft – http://www.microsoft.com/directx. After clicking this link, Microsoft will direct you to their DirectX Resoruce page for gamers. If you click on the link 'Latest DirectX download for gamers' you will be able to download and install the latest DirectX End-User Runtine. This will help all 3D games that you run on your computer, including iSnooker.

2. Update your Graphics Card to the latest driver. Normally you will be able to obtain this from the Website for the Graphics card. (usually NVIDIA or ATI). If you do not know your graphics card model you can do so (in Windows Vista / 7) by;

  • Click Windows Start button
  • Where it says 'Start Search type: dxdiag (then press enter)
  • The DirectX Diagnostics Tool should now appear
  • Click on the Display tab or Display 1, if you have multiple Graphics Cards
  • You will then see the Name and Manufacturer of your Grahpics Card

  • If you are unsure how to obtain the Drivers for your card, please contact us (support@thesnookerclub.com), providing as much information about your computer and Graphics Card name is known, and we'll do our best to assist you.

    3. If you haven't already done so, run Windows Update. Click Windows Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update. This will update your system with the latest windows drivers, which will also be beneficial to your computer for other applications / games.

    c. How do I get the latest version of iSnooker?
    You can find the latest build of iSnooker from our website's download page - http://www.thesnookerclub.com/downloads.php'

    d. I have the latest version of iSnooker but cannot access the Lobbies?
    After opening iSnooker, Click on the Login button on the iSnooker Login Wizard which appears. If the login dialog doesn't show, then you can select 'Online Play' -> 'Internet Lobby' from the top menu. Proceed to the Lobby Select dialog and Select the lobby you wish to join and click 'Enter Lobby' button in the bottom right corner. If you do not see a list of Lobbies please see Questions f) & g) of Game Trouble Shooting. If this doesn't help, please contact support@thesnookerclub.com

    e. I have a Router / Firewall, which Ports do I need open to access the lobbies?
    iSnooker requires TCP ports 1700-1800 to be fully accessible (open for both inbound and outbound traffic). You can find more information regarding forwarding of TCP ports for you router by using Google and search the name of your router with the term 'port forwarding'. Alternatively, you can contact support@thesnookerclub.com for further assisitance.

    f. I get Gateway Not Found when trying to connect to the lobbies?
  • Disable your Firewall
    If you are running Windows XP / 2000, try disabling firewall as this may be preventing you access to the game. The Internal XP firewall can be found at; Start-->Control Panel-->Network Connections-->choose your active internet connection-->properties-->Advanced-->untick "Internet Connection Firewall". This procedure may vary on other Windows versions (ME, 98) but in general, the firewall can be found under Network Connections (from Control Panel).

  • Program Conflict
    Try closing all other programs you have running before running the game. There may be a conflict between programs, causing you to have problems connecting to a Lobby or opening the game.

  • Port Access
    The lobbies run on different ports and if you are unable to join anyone of them then it would seem like a firewall program is blocking your computer from entering it. To access the lobbies make sure that TCP Ports 1700-1720 and 1799 are open for inbound and outbound traffic.

  • Windows Update
    Running Windows Update may resolve this problem and it is worth a try. To update your system from Microsoft you need to; Click Start -> All Programs -> Windows Update.

    g. I get Connection Refused when trying to connect to the Lobbies?
    If you get this message, it could mean you have a Firewall enabled either through a Windows program or on a Router (see Question d). Remember that some Anti-Virus programs have built-in firewalls, so you should check for this. If you have a firewall enabled you may need to disable this or configure the ports (see Question e) before you can access the lobbies.

    h. I have Dual Processor and the game runs Jerky (slow), what can I do
    You need to tell Windows to only use one Processor for the game, which you can do by;

  • Right Click on the Windows Taskbar
  • Click on Task Manager
  • Right Click on the iSnooker.exe Process and select "Set Affinity"
  • Deselect CPU 1 from the list of both CPU Threads available so that only CPU 0 is ticked
  • After doing this the game should not be jerky or slow anymore
